When a news reporter shows up in ancient Greece, Xena journeys to the Norse Lands to get her hands on the golden apples that will give anyone who takes a bite of one will be granted the gift of immortality and godhood. Xena gives Ares and Aphrodite back their godhood and Ares tempts Xena to join him on Olympus as a goddess. But Xena turns down his offer, though very tempted, and lets him and Aphrodite leave. As she watches them leave, she is wistful knowing that she has lost any chance she might have had with the mortal Ares and, as a god, things were going to return to the way they were between them.
